Power of Focus
"What stops people from getting what they want?" asks website poweroffocus.
To quote "It's lack of Focus. People who focus on what they want, prosper. Those who don't, struggle."

Marketing Resilience
LegalJobsBoard.co.uk has a great article on self-marketing entitled "Can you Market Yourself?"
One of the pieces of advice they give is RESILIENCE - "Grow Some Thick Skin". In the event you are not chosen for the role you really worked hard for, it can be demoralising if you don't keep a healthy, positive attitude ("Best Thing That Could have happened") and aren't able to BOUNCE BACK and pursue your career with consistent excitement and vigour.
If this happens more than once, you must remind yourself how good you are and treat each application as a new and fresh opportunity, approaching it with the same energy and determination as you did the first.
Rejection is an opportunity to "tweak the sales pattern", what we do when applying for a new position - selling our professional selves - which can be a daunting task. Selling yourself as an employable commodity might be harder than selling a product or service.
